My Pick on the Amalfi Coast

Praiano seen through the eyes of an LA blogger

By Milla*

The Amalfi Coast is on the southwestern side of Italy and is comprised of Positano, Praiano and Amalfi. Our villa was in Praiano, the most quiet and least touristy of the three, sandwiched right in between the other two, each about 20 minutes away by bus. all three cities are built into cliffs, impossibly stacked on top of themselves with only a few main roads connecting them — all narrow, frightening and facing the sea. a labyrinth of steep alleyways and staircases connect everything else, which made this a very aerobic vacation. © Milla

Amalfi Coasting is a “pet project” of a community organization started in the town of Praiano in 2013. We developed this web site as a tool to invite people from all over the world to get to know our town, discover its "secrets" and embrace it not just as a great tourist destination but also as a community, with its people, its traditions and all of its offerings.

Our Pick on the Amalfi Coast

What looms large in the horizon is the Tyrrhenian Sea

A Treasure Missed by Most

This small hamlet receives merely a fraction of the visitors that descend on its famous neighbors, despite its intimate hotels, charming restaurants and quiet beaches
