With his brother Edoardo, the late Pino Daniele, Tony Esposito and Alan Sorrenti, Eugenio Bennato is a leading member of the Neapolitan school of singer-songwriters that first became known thanks to the success of the Nuova Compagnia di Canto Popolare, a folk group he cofounded in 1969.
